YouTube Monetization
Checker

Every public number that bears on Partner Program eligibility, checked against both thresholds — and an honest line between what is measured and what is estimated. Monetization status itself is not public, so this tool does not pretend to report it.

  • Both tiers: 500 and 1,000 subs
  • Watch hours as a range, not a fake number
  • Time-to-threshold projection
  • Names what it cannot check

Three of these six are outside anyone's reach. A tool that shows six green ticks is guessing at half of them.

Paste a channel to check its eligibility

Handle, channel URL, UC… ID or any video from the channel. You'll get both Partner Program tiers checked line by line, a watch-hours range with its workings shown, and a list of the requirements that are private to the channel owner.

Both tiers, separately

The 500-subscriber fan-funding tier and the 1,000-subscriber ad-revenue tier have different thresholds and unlock different things. Most checkers only know about one.

A range, not a number

Watch hours get two independent estimates — current upload pace and lifetime average — and the band spans both. Where the threshold lands inside the range, the tool says so.

Every answer sourced

Each line is labelled public, estimated or not public. You always know whether you're reading a measurement or a model.

How to

How to check YouTube monetization eligibility

01
Paste any channel reference

Handle, channel URL, legacy /c/ or /user/ link, bare UC… ID — or a video URL from the channel you're checking.

02
Read the exact checks first

Subscribers against 500 and 1,000, public uploads in the last 90 days, declared country against Partner Program availability. These come straight from the API.

03
Then read the estimate as a range

Watch hours are modelled, never measured. The band shows how uncertain the answer is, and the workings panel shows exactly how it was built.

04
Finish with the blind spots

Strikes, 2-Step Verification, AdSense and the policy review decide real outcomes and are all private. Any of them can block a channel that passes everything else.

Why nobody can tell you if a channel is monetized

Monetization status is not a public field. It is not in the API, it is not on the channel page, and it is not derivable.

The trick most "monetization checkers" use is to load a video and see whether an ad played. That inference is worthless: ad delivery varies by viewer, region, advertiser demand, device and the ad blocker you may not know is running. A monetized channel serves no ad to plenty of viewers, and an unmonetized one can still show a YouTube house promo.

The second problem is the watch-hour figure. YouTube counts valid public watch hours — after filtering invalid traffic, and excluding watch time on private, unlisted and deleted videos. None of that filtering is visible from outside, so every third-party watch-hour number is a model output presented as a measurement.

What we do instead: report the public numbers exactly, model the private one as a range with the method printed next to it, and list the requirements that are private so they stay in view rather than being quietly assumed to pass. For your own channel, YouTube Studio → Earn is authoritative and this tool is not a substitute for it.

Two tiers, and within each one the watch-hour and Shorts routes are alternatives — you need one, not both. The full requirement list, including the parts no tool can see, is in the monetization requirements guide.

Who it's for

Four different questions, one page

Creators approaching the threshold want to know how far off they are and what to change. The projection panel turns the current upload pace into months-to-threshold, which is the number that actually informs a decision.

Creators buying or valuing a channel need to know whether the public numbers support the seller's monetization claim. A channel with 1,200 subscribers and two uploads in a year is a different asset from one with the same count publishing weekly.

Sponsorship and brand teams check whether a channel is plausibly in the programme before treating its revenue claims as real — and see immediately which parts of that claim are unverifiable.

Anyone who was told a number by a checker that prints a confident yes/no. Compare it with the range here and with the list of things neither tool can see.

One tool, every intent

However you searched for it, this is the page

People arrive here wanting a monetization check, a watch hours calculator, a Partner Program eligibility test, or an answer to "how many watch hours do I need". One workflow covers all of them: paste, read the exact checks, read the range, read the blind spots.

A watch hours calculator that shows its working

Views alone don't give you hours — you need duration and retention, and retention is private. The estimate here multiplies median long-form duration by an average view percentage band of 2550%, and prints both view estimates it was built from.

A monetization calculator for time, not money

How long until 4,000 hours at this pace, and what changes it. For the other question — what those views are worth once you're in — the Money Calculator handles revenue bands by niche.

Is monetization available in my country?

The tool checks the country a channel declares against Partner Program availability, and reports anything it can't confirm as unverified rather than guessing. Real eligibility follows where the creator lives, which is never public.

Shorts route or long-form route

10 million Shorts views in 90 days replaces the 4,000 hours. The tool detects possible Shorts by duration — the API doesn't flag them — and tells you which route a channel is closer to.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if a YouTube channel is monetized?+

You can't, and neither can any other tool — monetization status is not public data. What is public is the channel's progress against the Partner Program thresholds: subscriber count, public upload activity, channel age and declared country. This checker reports those, estimates the watch-hour figure that isn't public, and lists the requirements nobody outside the channel can see.

Are YouTube monetization checkers accurate?+

The subscriber and recent-upload checks are exact, because that data comes straight from the official API. The watch-hour figure is not: YouTube counts 'valid public watch hours' after filtering invalid traffic and excluding private, unlisted and deleted videos, and no third party can see any of that. Any checker printing a single watch-hour number, or a yes/no monetized verdict, is inventing the part it can't measure. This one gives a range and says which side of the line it falls on.

How many watch hours do I need to monetize on YouTube?+

4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months, alongside 1,000 subscribers, for ad revenue. The lower fan-funding tier needs 3,000 hours with 500 subscribers and 3 public uploads in 90 days. The window is rolling, so hours from 13 months ago have expired.

How many Shorts views does it take to get monetized?+

10 million valid public Shorts views in 90 days for the ad-revenue tier, or 3 million for fan funding. It replaces the watch-hour requirement rather than adding to it — you qualify through one route or the other, and the two don't combine.

How do I check my own monetization progress accurately?+

YouTube Studio → Earn, which shows live progress bars against both thresholds using YouTube's own definition of valid public watch time. That is the only authoritative source for your own channel. Use this tool for channels you don't own, or for a second opinion on the public numbers.

Is YouTube monetization available in my country?+

The Partner Program runs in most of the world but not everywhere, and YouTube has expanded the list repeatedly. This tool reads the country a channel declares publicly and checks it against a list last reconciled on 2026-07-27. A country we can't confirm is reported as unverified rather than ineligible. Eligibility follows the creator's country of residence, which is never public and need not match the channel's.
